23 Weeks to @simola_hillclimb 2025; the procrastination is paying dividends. With less than 232days til RaceDay, one should arguably become nervous. But not this guy.

“Racing is life, everything else is waiting” says Steve Mcqueen.
Well, I’m here to tell you: “racing is life, everything else is PREPARATION”.

As mentioned last week, I’ve learnt a lot on this journey, about myself, and about new skills and life lessons. In this week’s lesson, we (I’m including you, because you are reading this), learnt about Classic Car Time. Loosely defined, it means however long you think something will take, each step of the project will take infinitely longer than your wildest estimation. Rinse & repeat ad nauseam.
Needless to say, after a week of resolving little issues along the way, my first motor swap is almost done. Motor in, it starts and runs, but now we are resolving water pump problems.
In the interests of my own mental health, I’ve come to accept Classic Car Time and put it to good use to maximise my learning and improve the quality & reliability of the project.
When I eventually get to the official RaceCar, I should be able to remove the engine and gearbox with military precision, blindfolded.
In other news, I assembled a cool gear linkage for the Bedford. Very proud of this achievement.
No time to wait!
