Throwback Thursday.

This Year will be my 5th Simola Hillclimb and I am pleased, but pretty nervous, that my entry has been accepted in my yet to be completed 1967 Alfa Romeo RescueMod, a project started around 18 months ago…. but far from finished.

The last three years, I have placed myself under immense pressure through last minute preparation and with only 70 days to go, this year appears to heading the same way!

That said, each year, as I exuberantly rush into turn one, adrenaline pumping from all the last minute rush, scaring the living daylights out of myself, I am reminded that Classic Friday is a consequence of months of procrastination, stress and last minute preparation. Parts sourcing, problem solving, late nights, assembly, testing & logistics of the event. By race day, I am just content to be there, the actual runs become almost immaterial, a mere formality. Preparation is the Event!
