239 days to Simola Hillclimb 2025, so as a professional procrastinator I decided a little clean up would be in order. You know what they say about working in a dirty environment…(please let me know if you do)
Started with fitting new caster wheels to the engine hoist and then got carried away lifting random objects around the barn… needless to say, each project car gets to home its respective motor while sitting in the pipeline. 😬 corporate talk, dot miss it.
And that’s how I decided to do a long overdue engine swap on 71Veloce. Besides the fact that I wanted to rally it this weekend, the motor is caked in oil and my OCD needs to know where it’s coming from.
And that’s how I figured out how I subconsciously sabotage myself out of having fun, by putting myself under unnecessary pressure to do unnecessary things.
And that’s how we got here.
The positive conclusion from this weeks experience is that I have learned a tremendous amount about engine hoist and the fitment and removal of engine and gearbox, I preparation for the racecar. Also, I probably fitted the clutch plate back to front causing the engine not to turn.
