I have not been that tired since PE days.
The first leg of our day flight to Milan, landed in Dubai at midnight. Up since 4am, watching terrible in flight movies, no sleep! Deprivation setting in.
Time for a quick beer, ok two, on our stopover. R366…budget finished.
As we boarded the Milan leg of our journey, still reeling from my beer tab, confusion & panic start setting in… so many questions:
– #datapricesmust fall, what about #beerprices. This bothered me more than i should admit to. Not much gets between beer and I, but I could see this changing, for financial reasons!
-how are we going to arrive in Milan at 7:45 when its 3:45am and the ticket says 6 hour flight!
-I need to sleep. In 4 to 6 hours I will be picking up my Fiat500 for the ultimate Roadtrip to Bologna!
Thankfully the plane is fairly empty, so I curl up and get some much needed, broken, sleep.
Amanda thinks Im grumpy when I wake up, I dont agree.
I wake up with a jerk (apparently thats me) for breakfast, wondering where I am & what time it is, breakfast on the tray table next to me.
Take said breakfast and pack it out neatly across the two tray tables that have kindly been setup for me and start eating my fruit salad. I notice three olives in my fruit salad and wonder why anyone would put olives in a fruit salad. Wtf! I notice im being watched wondering why anyone would put olives in a fruit salad. Nobody says a word. Performance anxiety sets in.
Knock something off my tray and spend the next 10 minutes playing “spot the difference” between mine and Amandas plate, trying to figure out what it was. She is still watching me. Without saying a word, she puts her bread roll on my tray. I say nothing. Still not over the beer prices, wondering how we squeezing 6 into 4 and why anyone would eat olives for breakfast. But i have bigger problems. Waking up properly before we land!
Olives turned out to be delicious Grapes!
Roadtrip to Bologna to visit some of the best factories & museums in the world, weekend in Venice before heading back to Milan for EICMA.
