After yet another 1.04 best run, decisions were made. More Race, less Daily. No more driving to the event, we need to tow a #RaceCar.
Having sold my much loved #volksiebus with the business, it was time for something new. A dedicated mobile office sleeper race van, while respecting the Spirit of Classic Friday.
And that’s how the the R100k (excluding my labour) Challenge came about. Find a reliable tow vehicle, meeting all the criteria set for no more than R100k.
Spotted a stripped out Bedford for R15k, Lexus V8 4.3 with 6 Speed Automatic R38k and Mitsubishi Pajero rolling chassis with drivetrain and gearbox, but no motor, R15k.
Not without its challenges, but on track for Simola 2023.
To be clear, I have no idea what I am doing. Ignorance is bliss, but you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
