Today, I received my entry to Simola Hillclimb 2021. This journey started way back in 2017, when I chanced upon my dream car in a container in the Northern Suburbs.

After a year in storage, I decided to bite the bullet and build a fast road 105, the best my budget could afford.

Thanks to the help (read bad influence and coercion tactics) of my good friend, Paul van Wyk at AcciDentGuru, much scope creep (read expensive race parts) happened and I am very, very pleased with the results.

Dubbed #rescuemod, (rescue being modified, in case that wasn’t obvious), with no papers and shocking condition, I felt I had creative freedom to build what I wanted. And that I’ve done. More on the specs closer to completion…

This post is premature, but I could not stop myself from sharing the progress of this beauty. The car is not complete, the snag list is long, but #simolahillclimb2021 is alive and well. What a race it has been already!

Don’t miss this years event, 2-5 September 2021.
